My name is Dr. Mary Clarke and I am an Archaeologist and Art Historian currently teaching at Boston University in the Archaeology Program. I specialize in Mesoamerican art and iconography, with a particular focus on the Classic Maya. In my scholarship I ask fundamental questions about how humans make meaning and interact with the world. These interests also shape my role as an educator, where I encourage students to interrogate their perceptions of and relationships with the past so that they become engaged citizens of our diverse world. On this site, I've included information about my work as well as resources that will hopefully be of use to students, professors, and those interested in archaeological and art historical research. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me using the contact page.
